Shooting Star Media, Inc. is a media company focused on the world of athletics ( by that, we mean track & field, road racing, cross country running, marathon running and race walking). We publish six magazines plus one contract publishing project, six websites, several catalogs and over a dozen special meet publications or programs per year. We were formed in 1994, ( before that, we published American Athletics, under the name, Pike Creek Press, Inc.). Besides editing, designing, printing and mailing our projects, we also manage a mailing list of coaches, trainers, athletic directors,key players ( 141,501 CASS certified) that are updated on a weekly basis.
Shooting Star Media, Inc. is invovled in hundreds of events around the U.S., from the Wisconsin Track Coaches Clinic in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the K-Bell Classic In San Jose, California to the USA Outdoor Championships, wherever they may be. Shooting Star Media, Inc. is a proud media sponsor of USA Track & Field, the governing body of our sport and we work with 39 state coaching associations. Our publications, whether they are national, association-based, or regional, are keen observers of the sport culture. At Shooting Star Media, Inc., we are in tune with our sport.
Shooting Star Media, Inc. is also a proud member of the Running Network, LLC, an organization that represents the national advertising sales interest of 34 regional and national specialty running magazines and their associated websites (www.runningnetwork.com). Shooting Star Media, Inc. also works with Host Communications, representing track & field ads for their NCAA Cross Country, Indoor Track and Outdoor Track & Field programs, both regional and national. In 2007, Shooting Star Media, Inc. will also be representing Athletics Weekly, the preeminent European athletics publication, based in England.
